Seeing the Future: How the Common Core will affect Mathematics and English Language Arts in Grades 3-12 across America

In communities across America, education is changing. In some states, students and parents already are experiencing it, and in all but six others change will be taking effect within the next two years.
This change in 44 states and the District of Columbia has been set in motion by the nation’s new Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and English Language Arts and Literacy.
The adoption of common standards is a historic shift for American education.
